The Roy Research Group congratulates ECE PhD candidate Hyeongmeen Baik on receiving the Best Poster Presentation Award at the 2026 IEEE Applied Power and Electronics Conference (APEC). The award recognizes his collaborative poster, “Design of High-Frequency, High-Voltage Planar Transformer for Driving Dielectric Barrier Discharge Loads,” which addresses the design of compact planar transformers for dielectric barrier discharge applications requiring high-frequency and high-voltage operation. Saket Kapse made major contributions to the award-winning poster project.

In parallel, the group highlights the recent publication of the review paper “Review of Power Electronic Solutions for Dielectric Barrier Discharge Applications” in IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (DOI: 10.1109/TPEL.2026.3658517), with Hyeongmeen Baik as lead author under the direction of Assistant Professor Jinia Roy.
