About

Albert is an MS-Research student in the Roy Research Group at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, since Fall 2025. Born in Austin, Texas and raised in Seoul, South Korea, he earned his B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Seoul National University. Before beginning his graduate studies, he interned at Samsung Electronics (Home Appliances Business) and the Electrical Energy Conversion Lab (EECL) at SNU, and also worked as a researcher at the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI).
His research interests include wide-bandgap device-based power electronics and high-frequency isolated converters. He is currently working on the design of a dual active bridge (DAB) converter for electric propulsion systems in space as part of the Space Power & Propulsion for Agility, Responsiveness & Resilience (SPAR) Institute, focusing on optimizing transformer design for efficiency and low weight. In his free time, he enjoys working out in the gym and road trips to Chicago.
