Congratulations to Hyeongmeen: DBD Review Paper Accepted in IEEE TPEL

We are delighted to share that Hyeongmeen Baik’s paper, “Review of Power Electronic Solutions for Dielectric Barrier Discharge Applications,” co-authored with Jinia Roy, has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics (2026)! This comprehensive review bridges DBD plasma applications with power electronics design, examining reactor-dependent electrical models, waveform requirements, and key topologies—including resonant inverters (sinusoidal excitation) and pulsed power supplies. It highlights performance trade-offs, emerging trends like wide-bandgap devices (GaN/SiC), and future opportunities for high-efficiency, high-density DBD drivers in fields such as ozone generation, plasma medicine, and environmental remediation.

Huge congratulations to Hyeongmeen on this prestigious acceptance—your work significantly advances our group’s contributions to pulsed power, plasma electronics, and sustainable applications!

Well done!
